Dr Sanchez achieved his medical degree with honours in 2002 at University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Afterwards, he trained in Ophthalmology at University of Valladolid (Spain) with external training at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, UK), Hôpital ophtalmique Jules-Gonin (Lausanne, Switzerland) and The Rotterdam Eye Hospital (Rotterdam, Netherlands).
As investigator he performed basic and clinical research including stem cells technology at the IOBA research insitute. After becoming a Spanish ophthalmic surgeon in 2009, Dr Sanchez was comitted to train thourougly in the retinal sub-specialty.
In 2012 he became a specialist in medical and surgical retina after completing 3 years of well recognised fellowships in United Kingdom (Southend University Hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital and Windsor King Edward VII Hospital). Since then Dr Sanchez has been stablished as head of the retina unit at the eye clinic of Martin University Hospital, Slovakia.
Under his leadership Martin Hospital has become one of the main referal centres of retinal pathology in Slovakia.
Apart of his busy clinical practise, Dr Sanchez work as a lecturer in ophthalmology for foreing medical students at Jessenius Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University.
Dr Sanchez is fully skilled in ophthalmic surgery including vitreo-retinal surgery, micro-incision cataract surgey, laser treatment, intravitreal injections and presbyopic correction with multifocal intraocular lenses.
